Attending professional development events is an essential part of preparing for the workforce. They can help you learn to network, connect you with people who will be important in your career, and help you learn which field you want to specialize in.Recently, I attended a career fair where many companies from the local area had set up to meet students and collect resumes.Some of the companies in attendance were PayPal and Merck, along with local real estate companies and a few non-profits. Many of them were recruiting for internships and full-time positions.If you are looking for something productive to do over the summer, an event like this would be the perfect place to find something and connect with potential employers.
